Sorry I've been MIA for a while - I take my supply of old Case knives to this thread seriously!! I also like the thread because you all keep me apprised of Case's latest offerings!!Rope Sailor 1.jpgRope Sailor 2.jpgRope Sailor 3.jpg
Here is a larger Case Tested (~1920-1940) Rope or Sailor's knife!!
At 4 1/8" is has about an acre of famous Case Greenbone handle on it!!;)

Does Latrobe Specialty Steel make the 420 HC for Case? I think I read that somewhere. Perhaps someone can chime in, thanks.

Best regards,

That's too cool, Charlie! Can you tell us a bit more about the secondary blade on it? I've never seen one like that. What was it used for? And is that a wee thumbstud? Sorry for all the questions 🤪

Not ignoring you Pollack but having collected Case Knives for years I don't know and haven't ever seen it published. Unlike Buck Knives, that publishes all kinds of information about their steels, Case seems to be pretty secretive about the steel topic - only referencing CV steel and Tru-Sharp medical grade stainless. If I ever see the information I will save it (like I have done for Buck Knives). OH
