Here’s an old Case Serpentine Stockman with pyramite handles and a tang stamp dating it frrom 1905-1914. It was gifted to me by a dear friend in her 80s about 15 years ago. It was her father’s knife. He grew up in Lancaster, PA.

Sadly it's just the densely populated large cities full of crazies who get to have the biggest voice, most of us especially out in the widespread rural areas are smarter.
In a real and innovative democracy you should have one vote for a candidate and two against another , that would make things more equitable :D

I'm voting for this CASE come what may, rural or urban 😍

And I wouldn't be surprised if the bone was dyed back then using methods that are of much more concern than whatever is being used by Case today, because something has to explain today's poor quality redbone and why they haven't reproduced the beautiful old redbone you've got there.

There's no way the knives today contain enough of anything to actually be problematic.

Greenbone in fine walkin' and talkin' shape!!
Very interesting! Was just having a conversation in another thread about tested era knives having pattern numbers. I couldn't find any examples easily, but knew they must exist. This pattern number stamp is clear as day! I also love that shield!!

It looks like there might be an "XX" stamp above the pattern number. Is that true and do you know what this is for? I feel like I've heard rumors that each time it was checked by quality control it got one "X". And, Case checked every knife twice. Hence the double x moniker?
