Let's see your Traditional Case knives, old to new.

When I bought my seahorse whittler last week (see post #1415 above) there were several other beautiful Case knives that attracted my attention. One in particular was a pocket worn harvest orange bone peanut. I just couldn't get it out of my mind, so... I went back today and bought it! I had a great time talking with some of the staff in the store and learned that the owner is a knife knut, but was off work today. I'll have to go back and meet him. Also, this was the second time in 30 years that I have cut myself while knife shopping. :eek:o_O Last time was in a knife store in a mall while looking at Buck fixed blades. Here's some "professional" advice: don't talk and handle a knife at the same time! :p Great fit and finish, centered blades, good pull and snap, a real joy to handle and use. The grind on the clip is a bit sloppy but just a quick touch-up got both blades easily slicing phone book paper and shaving arm hair. I'll fix the grind later. Here's the little beauty:

I've seen this color (pocket worn harvest orange) before and couldn't figure out what it was. Now I know why: a lot of the pictures of this color (including on the wrcase website) show it as a muddy brown. Not so, as you can see.

Sweet looking little knife! Centered blades on the newer Peanuts unfortunately can be hit or miss it seems.

Things seem to be quiet over at Case. I have not been noticing the usual amount of activity for new patterns or handles. Seems like a few weeks have gone by. Is there typically a quiet time early in the new year?

Just got this one back from Case where they fixed the main clip blade play, she’s tight now. Put a screaming edge on the clip and a working edge on the sheepsfoot. Been in my pocket since. The blade placement will take some getting used to, makes me wish the upcoming premium stockmans were just shy of 4” like the 47 pattern ( my favorite stockman) as opposed to 4.25”. Then again the new red bone 47 in CV has been begging for an edge tune up and pocket time.....
