Gone through some unpleasant life events in the past few months. One positive from that time is that I landed a new job involving responsibilities I've long wanted to challenge myself with.

To celebrate, it should come as no surprise, that I was thinking of picking up a new traditional folder. I'd like something with sunk/sunken (whatever term you prefer) joints, and would appreciate seeing examples of what you all might have.

Thanks in advance.

Hey buddy, long time no see! I was just trying to PM you but it wouldn't go through. The only thing I have with sunken joints is this beautiful old two blade Ulster jack that I got from the great CC.

The only one I have with sunken joints is this

Case 63046 Humpback Stockman

A couple of Case 63090 Medium Stockman patterns.

The Case 06263 Eisenhower comes close.

And one of my favorites, the Case/Bose Norfolk.

All great knives shown here!! One of the reasons I like the Vic Alox' is the sunken joint.

Canoe? Case, Rough Rider, Colt, all make a nice one. Case and Colt are available with either carbon steel or stainless blades, too. Very pocket and hand friendly pattern.

I love sunk joints! The sunk joint is one of my favorite things about these two:

Case 63090 SS Medium Stockman (an underappreciated Stockman pattern, in my opinion!) on the left, custom John Lloyd shadow Dogleg Jack on the right. When I commissioned the Dogleg Jack, one of my requests was that it have a fully sunk joint.

Huh, this post made me realize that I barely have any sunken joint traditionals. With the exception of my SAK, this Case medium stockman is the only fully sunken one I've got. The Northwoods Norfolk is very close though.

This may be my only one with sunken joints for which I have pictures, a Tompkin that Jack Black gifted to me

Queen's Ruple trappers have sunken joints. It's a feature I'd like to see on more knives, but I get why we don't see it too much.
