You might want to think twice about holding a tent stake and hitting it with a hammer having a face 1" by 3/16". You had better have good aim.

I'd use a rock or branch before I'd use the hammer on the KDSH for that, it hurts just thinking about it......

That gives you lots of striking area.

I have done it and works great.

I don't know what tent stakes you are using but mine have a pretty big target area.

No doubt. But normally, the face of a hammer is larger than the target. That will not be true if you hammer with this variant of the KSDH.

It will work just be careful not to pound wood stakes. It tends to split them.

I think that a person would have to be decently drunk to pop an eyeball out on a backswing. Just my personal opinion on that.
