Don L,

I, of course, don't think that everyone who buys a Busse knife will be interested in T-Shirts, Hats, Challenge Coins, Decoder Rings, Busse Beer. .

But, if you look at Harley Davidson, there ar e many, many out there who have all the regalia and do not even ride a Harley. Seriously, I feel as though you are definately on the right track. This is going to be a winner.

Eric, could be set up like Columbia House Record/Disc Club. You get notification of the next months knife. If you don't respond, a new knife shows up, and you are charged!! Spouses will have to let us keep them!! (just kidding, this would be a nightmare...)

Man, a challenge coin so you have to buy beer (or maybe dinner)? I'm so forgetful I'll just have to pray the other person forgets theirs....;)

ooh ooh window stickers!! Spot a fellow Busse Bastid on the road!!!!

How about including a 1-800 number for psychological counseling... I may need some if I don't get this INFI need under control!

I'm all for the challenge coin, t-shirt and Busse Beer!!

Seriously, I like idea of the collectors club and would be willing to join. An INFI challenge coin would be a kick ass thing to have! Even the original idea of an INFI membership card is great. The key here, I think anyway, is that whatever is decided it should be made of INFI! Although, I'll take my t-shirt (if available) in cotton!:D

This may also be a great idea:)

you know I am up for it...:)

Just tell me when to send those membership fees baby!

Oh yeah, and.........ABOUT BLOODY TIME!

Columbia House? Oh the wife would kick my a$$, I always forget to send the cards back. That is why I am not allowed to order from them any more.

Mike, you could drilla hole in your challenge coin and wear it around your neck!

Hey there's a good idea for the club name,

Busse's Bastids!

I always wondered about this. You ride by the Harley shop and there would be 30 or so different bikes in the parking lot. Not Harleys, but Hondas, Suzukis, etc. They are in there buying Harley T shirts!!
Never figured that one out. :D

Just a thought :D:D
Grouch Marx (IIRC) had a great quote. In fact it is in someone's sig...

I wouldn't want to join a club that would have me as a member...;) :D

Just a thought :D:D

i love everything about this idea.

i don't think there's anything wrong with exclusivity - that's exactly what we're trying to celebrate here. as long as there is some sort of multi-tiered membership level, just like any other club, everyone can be happy.

if then somebody can't afford the membership cost i'm happy to form some sort of endowment/scholarship program. prospective candidates can write me a confidential essay detailing their circumstance, not unlike college financial aid forms, and we can make sure that a nuclear challenege coin reaches every town in america, every military base abroad, and every forward area to which we send our country's finest!

just think of the possibilities....

That's the spirit that seperates Busse Owners from the rest of the crowd if you ask me!

Hey, guys, first of all, thanks for not over-reacting to my post. I reread it this morning, and apologize that parts of it seem reactionary. :footinmou:

It was never my intention to try to induce Busse Guilt (of which, frankly, Busses are a guilty pleasure ;) ) or create hard feelings. I've just seen a couple of other clubs come into being that morphed into the "clique" and "non-clique", and I became concerned that there might be those that could inadvertantly be left out.

I really like some of the other ideas that have come up, such as tiered memberships and the like. I think with open thought something great could happen for all the Jerry-krishnas out there.

Sorry again, gang. I'll try not to post anymore immediately following a "discussion" with my ex-wife...

So that's what put the fire in your belly. I know how that is. Don't worry Don. I don't think there were any hard feelings. I think the thread was intended to bring these sorts of things up and you spoke your mind. I can't talk for every one, but I feel no aninmosity towards you for your input.

Lookee what I found!!!!!

Hehehehehe...........

Yeh, "Busse's Bastids".......

That'd look good on t-shirts at Blade.......

Back to the original question - I am in - but i think it should be $100 membership fee with a $200 dollar credit toward the purchase of Busse products - more bang for the buck ;)

I'd never seen this thread. Or at least I didn't remember it. I'm kinda glad the collector club turned out the way it did. OINK works just fine for me. Spend for membership or at the time if the purchase of the knife it's the same amount of money for INFI.
There are things coming up for OINK. Unfortunately due to the recent loss of power I haven't gotten much done in way of planning in the last couple of weeks. Got power back today. The planning will resume.

Oink! .....burp, NO REGRETS!!!!!

Yep, and I won't even ask for too much of a royalty for the idea on the name. :D
