Lets talk GEC!

I do like your 72 better though. It looks much more streamline. My point is they look similar enough to be designed by the same person or group of people. I thought gec was employed by former schatt and morgan (and queen) employees anyways

I think its only a matter of time before we see a gec with an “arching” clip. Its got to be tough (and fun!) working on your drafting table trying to come up with original blade designs.

I like the "arching clip" cutout of the old Case knives the best!!
GECs are nice, but they have a straight cut or grind, on top. The "curve" in the old Case examples gives more of a point to the tip!View attachment 1421846 View attachment 1421847 View attachment 1421848 View attachment 1421849 View attachment 1421850 View attachment 1421851
To each his own, and I wouldn't kick any of those knives out of my pocket, but I prefer the lower tip on the GEC clip blades.

It took a while for me to love the clip blades with that slight recurve you see on some models (86, 97, 54 big jack). I think it was mostly because I was uncomfortable sharpening them effectively. Once I got that dialed in and I was able to put my own edge on those blades, I became a fan. The blade shape gives a good feel in hand at that ever so slight recurve. So you get a blade with some recurve, belly, and nice point all in one blade!

waynorth waynorth Charlie, the third photo with the spear and clip together is as fine a pair of stag knives as I’ve ever seen. I could stop collecting if I had those two and never look back.
Thanks, Alan!!They are definitely in my top half-dozen Stag knives!!:)
Not that I have that many!

For those that like the large arch that are on some clip points, which pattern(s) would you like to see gec use such a blade on? I think it would look nicely on a 23 liner lock. Itll give it a nice bowie knife look and feel.

No, I call it unrestrained enthusiasm ;) Senior Moments are those where you don't have to care about anything :D:cool:
