Lets talk GEC!

Just want to acknowledge what a great acheivement for GEC to pull out a knife like this in the midst of a pandemic. Great job!

May I ask where you found that information?
Well I found it in GECs production total page under the Northfield section. I’m thinking it might have snuck in there because I can’t seem to be able to find any Northfields in primitive bone.
It also seems to be a rendezvous knife, so maybe that has something to do with it?
There’s also been a couple past sales with the 47 claim, for what it’s worth.

What’s the story on the 38 special? I don’t understand why all these other GEC releases sell out in seconds, but those 38 special knives (and a few other models) are available at many dealers and look to have been released a while ago. They look just as nice as the other releases to me.

I’m new at this if that’s not obvious. :)

Knife knuts are a fickle bunch... I like the looks of the 38's, if they had some two blade versions like say, with a pen blade, I would be all over them...

It’s been discussed a bit before but some of us find the ergonomics wrong - basically you can’t place any blade shape on any end of any knife frame and get great results each time.

having said that, its a perfectly acceptable knife. It only suffers in comparison to its more effective cousins.

I didn't really care for the Appaloosa Bone on these, but, man, that example is stunning!

Thanks Mcar.

I need help identifying this GEC. A recent Ebay purchase. In really bad condition. It has no year stamp on the tang.

It sure looks like a #23, but when I looked through GEC's entire lineup I couldn't find anything produced with those covers on a Tidioute #23 frame (or any of the similar patterns for that matter).

Ah, I should clarify based on size its definitely a 73 drop point Tidioute in smooth white or smooth ivory bone. I guess its production year is the only question mark.

perhaps @Jfowl31 can help?
