Lets talk GEC!

What's the difference between patterns #55 and #56? Both 3.5 inches, both are, in fact, reverse serpentine jack (or a large reverse peanut, if you will)?
 
Well the difference is marginal, 55s come in Spear/Wharncliffe and some are liner-locks - hence the half-stop?

56 are cam with up to 3 blades, some EZ-Open and no Wharncliffe master ? Perhaps GEC was experimenting with the construction methods ? The 55 I sold seemed to have very strong spring and W&T the 56s much less so, same with the 57s
 
Those stonewash blue covers don't tempt me at all and I've already got a dark wood 47 that I like better. There must be something else!
