I was hoping for some Northfield 15s but it doesn’t seem like that will happen this run…..

There’s a cap lifter SFO out thereI was hoping for some Northfield 15s but it doesn’t seem like that will happen this run…..
Thanks a lot for your comparison.I like them more than I expected to! I didn’t hit the lottery with any of the soup/marrow bone from this run, but I don’t mind it so much in that jigged green. The little bit of marrow adds some interesting texture/character to the jigged bone without stealing the spotlight.
The TCs (the two in the photo, plus the Waynorth soup bone I got last week) have nice action and slightly stronger pulls, but they all feel a just a little “tight,” sort of like the stronger pull is the result of the pivot being slightly over tightened rather than the spring being stronger. I’d probably put the green TC as my least favorite action, because the snap from half stop to full open is a little soft. The pulls on the two Cinnabar Crown Lifter are a little lighter but they also feel less tight, smoother, and still pretty snappy. Best action of the lot is the American Confetti, proper old school GEC action on it (which figures, because looks-wise it’s probably my least favorite of the bunch.)![]()
Thanks a lot for your comparison.
I also like knives with a stronger pull and good snap. But I think for the spring tension it's more important how much the spring is bent, than how hard the pivot has been hammered? Sometimes a good knife needs a while to "break in", but otherwise it could get light blade whobble if the pivot isn't hammered enough. Maybe your green TC just needs a while...?
I am curious awaiting my Cinnabar CL's. I used to have the 2014 version, but they came without the long swedge. Guess that's why I sold them years ago.
