Let's talk tanto folders

I absolutely love my G10 Bob Lum, although a bit on the heavy side(gee, that pocket sure is sagging a lot!), and my stiff KISS is holding up pretty well, although I use it for just about everything you shouldn't. And then there is Benchmade. What a crappy tanto! Sure, it's nice to have an auto, But I don't really trust my mini-stryker to do much other than click(damn expensive gadget!). Now, if only I could get the Bob Lum tanto blade with an Axis lock and Griptilian handle... :D

I OFTEN carry my MT SOCOM. My daughter has a NICE SpeedTech Synergy with the Tanto blade. It looks HOT and the knife is VERY well made. Too bad they are no longer in business :(

No one mentioned the Mission Knives folder?? A2 blade??? Frame Lock?? That HAS to be a solid knife???

If I were to only carry one knife, it wouldn't be a tanto. Since I usually carry at least three, one of them is a tanto. In my experience, the most "generally useful" blade shape is the recurved straight clip of the 710. Compared to that, I'd say a tanto can do about 80% of what the 710 can do. As I said, I'm not the biggest tanto fan, but I wanted to add one to my collection. I carry the Night Vision in my back left pocket as my off-hand knife and I haven't had any complaints about it at all. If you're looking for a tanto, I think this is one of, if not the, best out there.
