In the market for a tomahawk, had been looking to RMJ or Winkler shame on me never gave Swamp Rat a thought. Like the looks of the Rattle Hawk. Owners what do you say? Mainly be for processing of small wood, woods use etc. With the self defense aspect as well. Also does anyone Make kydex with a shoulder suspension system for the Rattlehawk? Pics would be most welcome!

An old friend from the Horton forum recommended the RMJ Shrike to me, for a little woods bumming type stuff. Got a hold of a used one. I have beat on it pretty good, they are tough hawks. It does a fairly decent job chopping. But it was my first hawk, so didn't have anything to compare it to yet. I also like the looks of the RMJ's,,,

Just got ahold of one of Ben Tendicks Valkyries, havn't really put it through its paces yet. But man what a sweet looking hawk,,,

Was considering trying out a SwampRat, just havn't got there yet. Havn't got to check out a Winkler yet either,,,

I love my RHs, great choppers. David Brown makes a mean bottom eject sheath. I've had a couple of RMJs and they seem more geared towards a combat aspect where the RH it's more all around use in my opinion. I had a KDSH for a little bit but I didn't like it, seemed to small.

The kill devil is a nice all around beater. They are also very tough for as thin as they are. Fast in the hand and you can wear them just about anywere.

The CrashRat is an awesome hawk as is the KD. I have used them both a lot and they are two different animals. If I could only take one it would be the CrashRat. Good luck on your quest.

OK, I like the looks of the crash as well, but I'm assuming it's no longer in production? Some Busse quests are so difficult...

Hey Nframe, I use to have a Benchmade tomahawk. ....but then I found BUSSE........needless to say the BM hawk was quickly sold. I too love me some tomahawk carnage.....and my eyes are set on that Rattle hawk. Yes I would love to have them all...but for starters I'm eyeballing that Rattle hawk. ..then it will be the KDSH...after seeing Oger cut a car in half with one....I was sold. And all he needed for energy was jalapeños.

I have a few different ones that I tinker with. Have a GG&G that is a boat anchor that we liked to try to chunk through/stick into things but it is way too heavy to carry. I have an RMJ Berserker that I have carried hiking and such. It works well but I'm not a huge fan of the curve in the handle. Still love it but think I would like a straight handle version more. I have a Ragnarok inbound. It is an RMJ/Bawidimann colab piece, looks awesome, will see how it carries though

I just bought a Jenny Wren and will be using is as my main outdoor (in place of a large knife) cutting tool/ defense weapon. I also want a KDSH just based on the cred it has earned with use from others. Trying to find one used at a decent price tat has the handles, but if using as prybar also, might want to stick with paracord? I just bought one of these that you might want to consider: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ives-tactical-tomahawk-H01?highlight=tomahawk

I payed 75 dollars for mine shipped I think! At that price point, its def worth a buy to try out! Its heat treated 4140 same stuff (pretty close anyway) with what RMJ uses in their hawks if I am not mistaken. I like the look of the Winkler II hawks but it just seems the spike end would not get much done in the way of breaching or clearing. Combat on the other hand is where it would likely excel. Also def check out Ben Tendicks Valkyries! They look equally amaizing to the WInkler's, and RMJ's and almost remind me of a fully functional viking axe with added spike! I am trying to get in touch with him now to see about having one made. Lots of options from stupendous weapon/tool makers discussed here! Good luck, and please someone have mercy on our credit cards!

Edit: What the guys above me are saying! The Ragnarock looks sick! I missed out on securing one.. I want one of the 12 inch Ragnarocks

Picked up this one quite some time ago from Hunter here on the forum, differentially treated 52100. While I'm more of a kukri guy, I love this one

Sign up for the mailing list to get the Pre-order for the Ragnarok 12s. Their Pre-order date hasn't been announced yet. They were doing the 14s first with a July delivery then the 12s. They did some but it was from leftover 14 steel

I wanted to try one of those. I got one of his machetes and I love it. I haven't seen him around. Is he still making anything?

My wife even said she likes the KDSH. Yall are making me want another 1 or 2.

He actually has a subforum on here now. And yes, he is still active. He has a lot of designs available now.
