Lets talk tomahawks

I have and RMJ loggerhead. Its a hammer polled shrike. It is a beast. It is great for splitting rounds of wood and other camping type stuff.

Picked up this one quite some time ago from Hunter here on the forum, differentially treated 52100. While I'm more of a kukri guy, I love this one

This looks sweet. I may go to a hawk before I get a smaller busse

The Rattle Hawk has had me so close to ordering so many times that it almost seems like I'm flirting with it, one day I'll have one.

I've had a a winkler Combat Axe and 3 RMJ's- Shrike, Jenny Wren, and Little Bird. I've also had a couple Cold Steel's and Custom Hawks, after some time in the woods I sold the Winkler, the Customs, and all but one Cold Steel; also returned the Little Bird, I don't think that you can beat the Shrike or Jenny Wren-they're amazing!

Next on the list will be the RMJ Active Shooter and I'm pretty sure the Rattle Hawk will follow that one.
One thing I like about the Busse offerings is that the handles don't go all the way up to the head like on the Winkler.
I have to admit that Winklers hawk had the best weight distribution due to his grind and if he made one with a longer cutting edge with shorter handle slabs it'd be almost impossible to beat.

Every one you mentioned will be pretty awesome, have fun figuring out which one is best for you.

Yeah I want an active shooter too! It's a Jenny Wren but with a spike that seems to demo/break locks better than the more "combat oriented" Jenny Wren. The only thing it lacks is the sharpened top, but again that is a feature for slashing in combat. I will actually use it for making stakes out in the wild.

The active will be my first hawk purchase...unless the Yard puts out something first...

I picked up the KDSH over the RH because I have to use a hawk out of necessity and it seemed the safer option with less points and sharp edges. Even if I had to use it as a weapon (which I don't) I would think the KDSH would be better and safer as well. The spike on the KD is more efficient to use as well and takes less damage than a sharp point. I love mine because it's light enough to pack in my ruck without feeling it much but for just processing wood close to home, Granfors Brux makes some nice little axes that are a tad more efficient for wood, maybe not quite as tough though.

If only I could have this in INFI and G10. Hard to beat the design of an old lath hatchet. All they need is a longer handle.

I really like the claw hammer poll design on old roofing hatchets. Just gotta trim them up a little.
