Let's talk tool boxes..

So, I have a snap on tool box at work and love it. The casters roll smoothly and easily over cracked concrete, metal shavings and all kinds of other crap. So now I'm looking for a toolbox for home I'm leaning snap on..

They are expensive (snap on), I have no experience with matco, mac, or lista (very very expensive ).

A couple guys at work have Kennedy boxes and a few craftsman. The craftsman are newer boxes and are thin gage steel. They feel flimsy.

What say you? Stick with snap on for my home tool box?

Or is there other well made brands I should consider?

Craigslist has some good deals on snap on boxes but still pretty spendy...

Well, hope my ramblings were somewhat coherent :D
I just picked this Kennedy up on Craigs List. So far I like it for the design, quality and look. It's pretty heavy even empty but for $150 I'm happy with it.IMG_6165.jpegIMG_6160.jpegIMG_6161.jpeg

This is the first tool box I ever had, my parents gave it to me when I was around 10 years old. My dad was tired of me always taking his tools and never returning them, so my parents assembled my own set, and this box. It was already pretty old when I received it, but I didn't care, I was thrilled. Unfortunately I never thought to ask my father about it's origins, something I regret now.

It's rather small (15"L x 7"W x 5"D), which was just fine for a child, but I've been using it to hold scrap metal for the past few decades, which is an important use for me. The original leather handle wasn't in the best of shape when I got it, and it eventually fell apart, so I made a new one. The box still has some of it's original green paint. No idea the maker, the box has no markings.

It's one of the few relics from my childhood.

The TOYO ST-350 is such an awesome little cantilever toolbox, made in Japan and high quality.
I payed $95 a couple years ago for mine in OD green, but prices have always fluctuated like crazy and today they can be had for as low as $65.

That may seem pricey for a small toolbox like this, but they're well worth it.
It holds a lot of tools for it's size, and the removable aluminum dividers in the top trays are awesome.

I suppose there's a reason why the box hasn't changed since being introduced back in the 60's.
