Let's talk traditional knives that have a bottle opener blade.....

I got this little fella a few weeks ago. It is a Colonel Coon Scout. At 3 1/4 inches, it is very pocket friendly. Best I have found so far. Wish I could find one of those GEC forum knives. That thing is sweet.

@ Smilingknife

That almost looks like the old lady-leg pattern. I bet you could modify one of those to where the foot & heel served as a cap-lifter.

Still looking. For ideas. I'm leaning to an alox pioneer or bantam, but would love to find something with bone or wood covers and half the blades of a kamp king.

buck makes one called a 'metro knife' that has a very small locking blade in a bottle opener. my buddy has one, shown in the middle;

i find it hard to use, though, and usually open my beer with a disposable lighter. lol

I think the GEC easy open is awesome. Theres actually a mod you can do to make it work better; also, have you ever given thought to using a blade with a "long pull" to open your caps? Its a good alternative to keep a knife more compact, just my two cents.

Can you explain further about a knife with a long pull?

There are all kind of choices. Those that have been posted plus these. The first is a Camillus made Camco Mumbly Peg. Not all that common but a great carry knife. The second is a Syracuse (also Camillus made). Again, not all that common but not overly expensive when you find one.

There are other little single blade knives with a cap lifter built into the tang that don't cost a fortune. What I had in mind would be something similar to the third knife.

Search on 'bottle opener knife' on eBay and there are about a thousand or more listings. There's no way to know what you had in mind but you should be able to find something that suites your fancy with that many choices.

I've been using SAK's to open bottles for a long time, but nothing beats my Boker for looking classy while doing it

Similar to the others posted, though it is a bit thicker. For a thin, really pocket friendly tool I like my Wenger SI, though I don't have a pic, it's similar to the Vic Pioneer.

I love that Camco Mumbly Peg too, that brings back memories :D
