From skin out, I wear polypro short & tee. The shorts are supposed to be anti-microbial and anti-odor, but I don't notice it.
Polartec power-dry expedition weight fleece longjon leggings and crew. I wish they had the thumbhole, to help keep my wrists warm without fingerless gloves. I love these things, even after years of use.
Normally above this would be the nylon pants & button up, along with a fleece vest. Being a little extra cold, I add a pair of fleece pajama pants under the nylons, and exchange the nylon button up for a fleece jacket over the vest. Vest is a near permanent fixture in cooler months, and my last layer of edc/kit/whatever is kept there; two catalytic pocket warmers also fit very nicely in the interior pockets!
Jacket is just a cheap nylon exterior with polyfil stuffing. Thick watch-cap, fingerless gloves (kind'a cheat, carry leather work gloves they can be worn under), a long/wide/thin scarf, and cozy socks no liner; the four of which are all cheap acrylic. This is an area I'm conscious of possible improvement. Rabbit bomber hat, here I come!
I occasionally waffle between natural materials and synthetics, but overall I tend to feel more secure with synthetics, but more cozy/nostalgic with natural materials. At this particular moment, I'm very big on fleece and nylon, but I'll always have a soft-spot for wool and down.
