Pffft....ok, I got a photobucket account.
You'd think a former boy genius like me could figger out how to link to pics.
Anyone want to give me a hint?

Just a guess, but you have to make the folder "Public" before other people can see them. Click on account options in the upper right corner. Then under Album Options click "Make Public".

Then copy the link from the bottom of the 3 boxes under the pic (the one with Img in front of it), and paste it into your bladeforum post.

Hope this helps.

Steve

Good Lord that thing is beautiful. I'm not a motorcycle guy, but you gotta respect that thing. Jeez.

Thanks for posting.

Second bike I've seen recently online that I had to double take on. Sweet.

I really like motorcycles and wimmen.

But either/both can be the death of ya if you ain't careful.

An air-cooled twin ! Almost perfect. Just lower those jugs to about 90 degrees to the engine block and it would be just right!;)

Nice ride.

and put BM (something on it?)

Never rode a "goose," but always liked the way they look.

Mine is a '97. There's not a lot of difference visually in the "California" models from the mid-90's to the present.
The bike is a evolution of the Ambassador/Eldorado models that first came to the US in the late 60's, many of which are still on the road.
Guzzis are durable and "torquey" motorbikes. Some folks still call them "tractors," but that's another story.
At one time, Guzzi was a top contender on the European racing scene, but those days are long gone.
My bike will run with anyone's v-twin cruiser and will out handle most due to good ground clearance and steering angle. It's a fact, no brag, that it will out run any stock motorcycle produced by that famous brand in Milwaukee.
I said stock. ;) It's also a fact that it can be left in the dust by most of the Asian multi cylinder rice rockets.:grumpy:
Guzzis aren't for everyone. They are most appreciated and ridden by fellows like the ones who inhabit this boad.
If there were no Guzzis I would prolly ride an old BMW. Don't care too much for the newer ones. They look too dayum sci-fi to me (and they cost too much).
What's this got to do with khukuri's? When I go motorcycle camping, I always take my 12" AK in my bugout bag. It can do anything that needs to be done at a moto campground.
Hope to see some of you guys on the road this summer.

I rember when the 3 cylinder Kawasakis came out. I had my Vincent Black Shadow and it was very close on acceleration with the "Sack-o-hockeys". Of courser they would out-handle and out brake me all day long. But they could not out-class me and I hated the sound the 2 cycle 3 cylinder mills made. But WOW, could they GO!

I agree. "Too dayum sci-fi."

Gotta get this dayum knee therapy behind me, been one month today since the surgery, and get my old R-69 and Steib TR-500 Seitenwagon on the road!

Have about all the parts. Just gotta take it down, paint and re-assemble.

Even got a Vanson jacket flow through jacket with all the perforations. Got it off eBay during the winter, cheap! Heh, Heh. But it will be at least a month before the docs will let me on any motorcycle or car. Sure am getting tired of not being able to drive. But Anne is doing reat as a chauffer. (Won't wear the little cap I got her, though)

The Honda Shadow is ready to go and looks at me every time I hobble by. "Soon, Old Paint, very soon we will be blazing down the road!

Have to tell you guys that two weeks after the surgery I tried getting on the Shadow, not to try to ride it, just to sit on it. My dayum operated knee would not bend far enough to reach the footpeg. I felt like crying. I felt emasculated.

I hate to admit that, but a lot of depression comes with major surgery.

A week later, I was able to reach the footpeg! It was like Christmas! I let out a rebel yell! Anne came running. Thought I had fallen off.

I did ask her to hide the key from me in case I decided to take an early ride before the docs cleared me.

But in about a month, I should be able to ride again! I am really looking forward to that day!

Mr. Marsh?

You screw up that knee and I'm coming down there, and bringing a cranky ndn with me...it won't be pretty.

How's the range of movement? How about the med effect? Hallucinating yet?

wacherass.

Bill, I remember going to the Guzzi dealer while still on a cane after my bad accident in July of 2000.
It was all I could do to swing a leg over a bike or two, but I did it. I think I was sore for three days after that.
A few months later I got the '97 in the pic. My friends shook their heads and muttered about me being crazy. So be it.

I promise I'll be good!

Range of Motion is 3 degrees to 97 degrees. I am supposed to be at 90 degrees right now, so i am exceeding expectations! Yahoo! Still must be careful. Then I will have a good knee for a long time.

Bill, in your honor I went out today and ran her up to a buck ten....three times.

Ton up!
