Leu Customs

ucok,
You're gonna come to like the PL-big time. I do like the PH also. Many folks really don't understand these blade styles. I remember when Phill's blades were called junk. Hard to believe. Pohan's are closer to that word. I know he's reading this. JK-Pohan. WHERE"S MY KNIFE!!!!
Lycosa

WHERE'S my kozuka!!! I want the red one.Hi Pohan. Know who I am? Thanks!
Lycosa

U.C.O.K,

I have no idea why you can't see the gallery.....or maybe I do! Maybe you don't have FLASH installed on your computer and that's why nothing is showing up. I just checked it out like 10 seconds ago and it's there. =) Thanks for all the kind words guys and nice seeing the rest of you people I don't know. :D

Pohan
Hi Pohan,

I have discovered that it does not work in Firefox, even if you have the Firefox flash plugin. It does work in IE though.

Great looking knives btw.

Yer gonna be grind'n like crazy now Mr, Leu. People can see your work. Great job on the gallery. Stock up on grind'n belts! Your Big fan;
Lycosa

Seems like one thing i don't stock up on is grinding belts! Though I do have about a bagillion old wore out ones that I use for finishing the blades with and shaping! Need to seriously evaluate all the belts as i'm sure alot of them I can throw away because they have worn out way too far.

LC,
Just don't you get worn out! I'm looking forward to the arrival of your knife that's coming this week. YEAH!!
Lycosa

Thanks for the comments Tgiannes! I appreciate it and glad you like the blade :D

I recently aquired a knife in this style. A custom no less. What are the advantages of a "zero grind"?

Zero-grind knives are sharp as a witch's tit. Just means they don't have a secondary bevel forming the edge. The main grind bevel goes straight to the edge, so it has an effective edge thickness of 'zero'.

That makes them rather scarily sharp and particularly good at cutting soft(er) substrates.

On the downside, they can be a pain to sharpen if you let it get too dull without touching it up, or if you chip the edge.

If you've ever used a traditional Finnish/Scandi puukko, you've used a "zero grind", just on both sides instead of chisel-ground.

Hahaha, yeah, among others.

On his gallery, mine is the one with the yellow wrap.

She's pretty nasty on the soft stuff.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan of this genre. I own a couple of Martins and had a Snody in this style. For absolute sharpness (and for what I carry a SD blade for) this style can't be beat.

I have been visiting Leu's Site for more than a week, trying in vain to narrow down which Model I like best.

Mr. Pohan, I will email you with some questions when you have time.

Thanks.

I always have time! (well not really)...but I make time! :D
