I have a very nice Leupold pistol or scout scope. Has 2x zoom and is designed to be mounted farther from the eye than a traditional scope. I have only mounted this as a scout scope on a light recoiling rifle but these work great as pistol scopes. The range of eye relief is very adaptable. Excellent condition, will ship in a Leupold box. Would this scope handle the recoil of a 45-70? Looking for a scout scope for my Marlin!
 
I don't see why not: it's designed for the recoil of high-power magnum revolvers which have a pretty extreme recoil impulse.
These scopes are known for their ruggedness...
