I have a copy of Bernard Levine's Guide to Knives and Their Values, 4th Edition - affectionately known as LG IV - in excellent condition. Doesn't even look used: spine isn't creased, not dirty, etc. It is the reference guide for serious collectors, and the only one BRL recommends. (He didn't have anything to do with the subsequent editions, like LG V or the BLADES Guides.) $55 shipped via media mail.
I also have a copy of Harvey Platts' book, The Knife Makers Who Went West. Just a great reference. Like it says in the Preface: "This book is primarily about Western knives and the Platts knife makers. In addition, information about other businesses and individuals, inlcuding some of the author's Case ancestors, is presented wherever relevant to the theme of the book." Includes chapters on the Northfield Knife Co., Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. C. Platts & Sons Cutlery Co., W.R. Case & Son Cutlery Co., Crandall Cutlery Co. and Platts Brothers Cutlery Co., but the majority of the book is devoted to Western Cutlery Co. Book has many pictures annd great catalog page reprints. Published in 1978. Book is in very good condition, though the corners have had some bumps, cover has some wear and is frayed at the corners. In between the covers, great condition! If you want to collect Western knives, you need this one. $55 shipped via media mail.
