I am looking to buy a folding knife for general purpose. I am asking here because I do not know much about quality knifes, good brand names, or what is a good deal when purchasing. Here is what I am looking for...

1. good quality blade, durable, can take a beating without breaking
2. a size reasonable to carry in my pocket, not to big to be noticed
3. not extremely expensive, I was thinking <$100
4. easy to flick out. not really for self defense, its not like I'm going to stab someone lol. But I have to take a bus home late at night and there is strange people there...

here is my last knife I had, I liked it, but it was not very strong and is now loose and kinda broken. it is a kershaw

So can anyone point me to some good deals on what I am looking for?

Check Out the Spyderco Enduras or Delicas. There are a lot of configurations for each, and theres even a model with Emerson's Wave feature on it. Basically it has a hook on it that will snag the inside of your pocket and it opens when you pull it out. These knives have a fantastic blade steel which holds a great edge and is not too hard to sharpen. For me, the ergonomics are outstanding as well.

Enduras and Delicas are on pages 2, 3, 5 and 6.

+1 on the Spyderco Delica or Endura. If you can carry it legally, the Endura is the best overall knife on the market, for the money. I don't think I've ever heard anyone ever say they regretted buying an Endura. There are lots of different versions, in all sorts of blade configurations and handle materials/ colors. For a basic knife, the normal FRN model with plain edge is about all anyone would ever realistically need.

Any of Spyderco's FRN knives would serve you well. The S30V Native is another good choice, and is very inexpensive.
