This is one of my Bowie fighters, like my ex-wife it is both beautiful and terrible. Hand forged to profile from .214"(damn near 1/4 inch) thick 5160 spring/tool steel it was then finish ground (flat), oil hardened, tempered to 475F., and polished. I put a pretty high shine on these, but carbon steel must be cared for and will patina with use,so i am offering to parkerize this free of charge if the buyer wishes. Parkerizing is a corrosion resistant Zinc Phosphate coating in charcoal grey commonly used on military equipment. It doesn't make them pretty but it does make them practical. The scales are made from Cocobolo, polished and removable for cleaning or maintenance. It is 12&13/16" long overall, and 7&15/16 tip to wood, and weighs 12 ounces. The top edge is sharp, check local laws. I accept paypal, $80.00 shipped in the U.S.,$10.00 more outside, contact me here or at djl66ftwii@gmail.com(also my paypal address). These have been selling pretty well. Thank you for your interest.

PICT0875.jpgThis one is still available. These pictures are for anyone who might for some reason think i use pre-made blanks. The two small ones will have the taper to the edge forged in changing there profile in the process, one to a clip point and one to a drop point. The other is what i make into my fighting bowie, simply changing the profile on the anvil's horn. They are pictured on my working anvil along with one of the tongs i made for this work.PICT0874.jpg
