This one was designed by a customer, he called it a caping knife. It looks a little unusual but when you choke up on it with your thumb in the pocket you can tell that it will be an excellent skinner. It was cut from a .214" thick bar of 5160 high carbon (.560/.640%) steel. I hand forge the taper to the edge, then finish grind, oil harden, temper to 475F. and take the finish out to a 180 grit matte. The Cocobolo scales feature hand inlet brass hardware, are polished and finished with an orange oil/beeswax combo, and are removable for cleaning or maintenance. It is 9" long overall and 4&13/16" tip to wood. Carbon steel must be cared for and will patina with use, so i now offer parkerizing free of charge, It isn't pretty but it is practical. I prefer paypal, $65.00 shipped in the U.S., priority mail. Contact me here or at djl66ftwii@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest.
