Today I received the Cold Steel American Lawman folder that I bought at eBay, but it didn't come with the "extra" (left-hand) pocket-clip, and being a "lefty", I NEED one of these left-handed pocket-clips in-order to carry this folder clipped inside of my pocket.

Does anyone have one of these left-handed American Lawman pocket clips that (you) don't need/don't want, that (you) can send to me?

Thanks in advance for any help that (you) can give to me.:).

Hi Dan, I would bet that Cold Steel will send you one without any problems! They seem to be good to deal with. Good Luck! Kevin :D:thumbup:

Hey Glockman99,
I have a left handed clip for a Lawman I just got on the forum. The clip is yours. I will send it out tomorrow.

It is in an envelope, and ready to go in the mail tomorrow AM!

You're right...Cold Steel would send a new "left-hand" American Lawman pocket clip to me...For $9.04...($5.00 for the item, $2.50 for shipping, $1.10 for the Postal Money Order, and $0.44 for the postage stamp). Since I bought this knife that was listed as "new or like-new", I expected it to come with both supplied pocket-clips, but ALL I received from the guy I bought it from was the knife with only the right-hand pocket-clip..

That sucks. Benchmade sends them out for free. I just received two last week because I asked.

I am glad someone was kind enough to give you one. Sometimes you never know who you are dealing with. I think I would have contacted him and ask where the other clip was! Dont you just hate when you order something and it is not all there!:thumbdn:
Glad you did get a clip Dan! Kevin

Actually, I went back to look at the listing where I bought the knife, and the listing, under "condition", listed the knife as "new"...Now, I'm pretty sure that a "new" Cold Steel American Lawman should have come with both pocket-clips (as well as the box, that I didn't receive)...

Now, I have to figure-out what kind of feedback to leave this eBay seller....(Also, I didn't mention, but this knife is missing some of the coating along the top edges of the spine, as well as some coating off of the (RH) pocket-clip).

That's true...Benchmade, (and CRKT) will send-out replacemt clips free of charge, but not Cold Steel...(Unless Cold Steel lists the price of replacement clips just to scare people away...LOL).

I have to mention, as a positive, that the American Lawman that I received is the version with the dual stainless liners (as well as the Tri-Ad lock)...The NEW versions only have the G-10 scales, without liners. I like the "extra" weight (and strength) that the dual stainless liners provide.

Does not sound new to me Dan!! You know me, if I had an unhappy customer I would make the deal right! I could not stand for someone to be unhappy with me! I would see if I could contact him and see how he replys! Kevin :D

I needed a clip for a used Voyager and Endura that I got on e-bay and both Cold Steel and Spyderco charged me for it, around $9 delivered for each.

Dear shaggydaisymae,

Greg,

The $1.25 isn't the issue. You listed this Cold Steel Americam Lawman as "new or like-new", and either "new or like-new" would indicate to me that the knife should have come with the box, or at-least with the left-hand pocket-clip that Cold Steel provides with EVERY American Lawman folder that they sell. I looked at the Cold Steel web-site, and it looks like they no-longer give-away the pocket-clips, as they are listed for sale...Quote from the Cold Steel web-site: "Cold Steel sells replacement clips. Metal clips are $5.00 plus $2.50 shipping.". So, for me to make my American Lawman folder "whole" (and so that I can carry it, clipped inside of my pocket), it will cost me $9.04...$5.00 for the item, $2.50 for shipping, $1.10 for the Postal Money Order, and $0.44 for the postage stamp. I don't expect you to pay for the pocket clip, but had I known that the American Lawman knife that I bought from you didn't come with the box, or even with the "left-hand" pocket-clip (not to mention the coating loss on the blade & pocket-clip), I'd have spent the "extra" $1.25 and received a TOTALLY new knife.

Dear glockman99,

Hi the pocket clip for the left hand did not come with the knife when I bought it. The box is not included but I understand your confusion. From cold steel this knife with box runs $89.99. You got this knife for $43.99 off of the cold steel price. You can get the clip for the left hand from cold steel cheap to add to your knife. The box I understand that you thought it came with it but I put new or like new. Like new meaning no box and not new in that way. I can refund you $1.25 as you said somwhere you could have gotten the knife with a box. The knife has never been used by me and is in new or like new condition. Let me know if that is agreeable to you. Thanks, Greg

Dear shaggydaisymae,

The Cold Steel American Lawman knife that I bought from you at eBay arrived today (07/18/11), but since you listed it as "new or like-new", I expected that it would come in the Cold Steel box, or at-least with the "extra" (left-hand) pocket-clip, but all I received was the knife with the right-hand pocket-clip. I am left-handed, so I can't carry this knife clipped to my pocket, as I had planned. The knife itself is in very good (but not "new, or like new") condition as some of the black coating is gone from the edge of the spine of the blade, and from the pocket-clip.

I am not totally unhappy with this knife, but not quite what I expected, as I could have bought one TOTALLY brand-new, in the box, with both pocket-clips, etc., for only $1.25 more than what I paid for the one I received.

He does not sound like he has to much knife knowledge so I would not really want to deal with him again unless he shipped the knife first. Kevin :(

Other than that how do you like your new CS American Lawman? I don't have one but the look pretty cool.

It's an excellent folder! I also have the new (2010) Recon 1 folders...One clip-point, and one Tanto. I really like the build and quality of these CS folders, and the Tri-Ad lock has proven to be very strong.

Ive been thinking about getting the new linerless Lawman. It would be my first CS knife, but the AUS8 steel is holding me back. Its not that im a steelsnob, but i can get a VG-10 Endura or 154CM Griptilian for less than what the Lawman costs. Both are excellent knives, which have proven themselves robust and reliable.

Im just finding it hard to pay that much for a steel thats comparable to (IIRC) 8cr13Mov. It dosent seem like a good value. That being said, i like everything else about the Lawman.

Don't let the steel #'s get you off track. You're buying a complete folder, not just a blade. The new linerless Recon-1 that I picked up can probably do anything that an Endura and a Grip can do. I don't think there's a quantum leap in steel quality between CS's AUS8 and either of those steels. YMMV. :)

I agree...The AUS-8(A) version that Cold Steel uses really isn't all THAT bad of a steel...It's might not be one of the more "modern" yowza steels out there now-a-days, but AUS-8(A) will still do a fine job of cuttin'.
