Liability of keeping a Hawk or "whoopin stick" in your truck.

Well I have carried an axe in the car, mainly because once you get stuck with a blown down tree across the road in the middle of winter you will want to plan ahead next time. I live in Maine, where often enough the "you can't get there from here" means "one road only."

Now for the cab of the truck i have always liked a long tire iron, or something similar. I have an old, long jack handle right now. Helps that the socket on the end fits my lugs. Use to carry a breaker bar with the right socket for the tires.....and a long heavy pipe for more leverage. :)

I am also a big fan of the Cold Steel shovel

I also like the 4 cell maglight for this

I carry both!!

:)

Daniel Boone carried one!A Hawk that is...I bet his walking stick was unique also.
If the need arises,it better be handy.I tend to carry a hatchet publically more than a CCP gun.

.

A permit and a 45 on your hip seems to be a better solution. THats what I do. If a situation arises where I need to exit my vehicle with a weapon it sure as hell is going to be something other than a stick, pointy or not.

SGTCap,
You make a lot of sense...
However... since I live in Southern California... I have no legal carry option...

My wife and I go on walks for exercise (often at night)... we live in a decent area, but you never really know... She typically carries her LE grade/size Pepper 'Gel'... I carry different things, depending on how I 'feel'... some of my choices are: Pepper 'Gel', MagLite 4-'D' cell flashlight, SureFire 6Z Combatlight or G2 Nitrolon, Cold Steel African Walking Stick or City Stick, or 'whatever'... sometimes more than one item... I have even carried a tomahawk, but not concealed...

At home is a different story... guns in multiple locations, plus tomahawks on the wall, easy to get to... but not in heavy traffic locations... near my dresser in the bedroom... weapons everywhere, but not in plain sight... lots of options...

CCW for me... though this is lying on top of an open mouth toolbag right behind the front seat.

Just a tool... I would never dream of using it otherwise.

I was helping a friend work on a deck. It also helps with the frozen locks on the transmitter gates in the winter.

You know? It swings really well. Excellent hammer!
