New model numbers are being introduced and will be used moving forward.

The Libra Knives 10" will now be called the GL.X
The Libra Knives 12" will now be called the GL.XII
For more information on this change see my post here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...o-Libra-Knives

Main Production Run #1 prices are as follows:

  • The GL.X is $60
  • The GL.XII is $80

Shipping will be $10 anywhere in the US or $25 to Canada.
Other international locations will vary based on location.

Moving forward each production run will be priced individually so that I can cover my current and future production costs.

I just picked up 119 blanks from water jet today.
They got all by 7 pieces perfect with 6 being slightly scored along one edge and one being lost in the waterjet machinery. Not sure how you can lose a 10" knife, but they did, and discounted my order accordingly.

I've got a show in Spokane this weekend and the Spokane Expo and trade center through The Lewis Clark promoters. Saturday and Sunday.

I'll be grinding and heat treating from now till Friday evening when I'll mark and pack whatever I've managed to get done.

I'm estimating I'll have about 15 pieces of each ready to sell at the show, but if I can get more done I will.

Will be selling at the show in person with stock on hand, and then from my website www.libraknives.com after the show.

Cash or PayPal accepted at the show.

Cash, PayPal, or credit accepted on my site.

BladeForums members can order directly with a $5 discount per knife by sending mail to sales@libraknives.com and putting BLADEFORUMS $5 DISCOUNT in the subject line.

Orders will be shipped in the order they are received with in-person sales being the priority through this weekend.
After that I'll be completing about 10-20/week as time allows until this run of 119 is complete.

All remaining post-show stock will be listed on my site in the Production Run #1 section.

Best to all, and stay sharp.

Nice. What's the thickness of the S7 stock, the weight of each knife, and where is the balance point?

Thanks,
Will

I've been considering some throwing knives. Any chance you'd be willing to do a 2fer or 3fer price?

They are made from ground .25 oversize stock, so really .26 - .32 pre-grinding and heat treat, .25 - .29 post grinding.

GL.X weighs about 9.5 oz.

GL.XII weighs about 18 oz.

The balance point is near the actual length and width center of the knife for both the GL.X and GL.XII

I'll have more exact specs once I get some of this production run finished and after this weekend's show.

I'll also have Rockwell hardness numbers as well.

I'm pretty close to my margins with my current pricing, but sure, for a Blade Forums member, I'd be willing to work something out, would depend on how many you're after and which model.

Shoot me some mail at sales@libraknives.com and I'm sure I can set you up for a good price.

Yes, you're reading it right, though my numbers may be off.
I'm in the middle of making knives all this week.
When I get some done I'll update these specs... I think the double ratio is off... its more like 1.5... but I'll get out the balance and take some pictures along with the calipers and a ruler.
Sorry for the delay... I got time during the day when I'm not around my shop, but no time at night when I am.

Got 16 of each profile and rough face ground.
Tomorrow is rough and finish bevel grinding, then heat treat cycles begin.
