I'm assuming this is a copy whether legal or not I am not sure.... I'm pretty sure amazon can not sell an illegal copy so was wondering what you guys thought of it... if for some reason they can or this isn't technically a copy then information is welcome! went through the sellers other items and seems like he has more than just this one

Tryed posting just the knife but is says its to large or something....

Bottom line is, it is up to KaBar-Becker to file a claim.

You or I could notify Amazon but that is useless. It takes the company that is the owner of the design to instigate an action.

Knife King is a seller of unbranded knives. He uses his company name to sell them but they are not stamped or marked with his name in any way.
Just another loophole.

There is no IP police. It is the responsibility of the one who is being infringed upon to take action unfortunately.

That isn't even a good knockoff. Those handles are basic slab construction and lack the swells that make the becker handle what it is.

So is it a copy or not? Does it say it's a Becker or Ka-Bar?

I am not positive but I think the handles shape may be trademarked. If so I would say this infringes on that. If not it is still trying to look like a BK2. We can call it whatever we want, a knockoff, a copy, a homage or a designer imposter. It clearly is not an original design and is clearly meant to look like a becker handle.

This goes into the "clone" category I believe.
The knife posted by the OP is Clearly a copy of the KaBar/Becker. Perhaps the size is altered? Perhaps it falls outside infringement laws?

It's those Perhaps-s that get us in trouble in these discussions.

To me it is all speculation without facts.

The fella selling them may not be breaking any LAW. We do not know.

So is this statement about another knife???? "That isn't even a good knockoff. Those handles are basic slab construction and lack the swells that make the becker handle what it is."

What are you getting at? Feel free to just say it rather than asking me questions. I feel as though I am being fairly clear how I feel about it. Feel free to share how you feel about it. Apparently we see this differently. To me it is close enough to be wrong.

I ask because I am not clear about what is being said.

If it is clearly not like the Becker, lacking features that make a Becker a Becker, that would say to me that it is not a knockoff/copy - or not successful as a knockoff/copy.

I cannot see from the pictures what brand, if any, is marked on the knife.

Then we can agree to disagree. To me a poorly executed copy is still a copy. To you it is not. We are all entitled to our opinions and ours are different.

I hope you have a safe and happy holiday weekend. :)

I am opening a sharpening service/retail shop early next year.
I have been purchasing/sampling knifes from a LOT of sources in the past 3-4 months.

I own two Karambits, and a "Big Bro" bowie from this seller.
They are the same Pakistan knives as sold by several FleaBay sellers, and they are completely unbranded in any way.
No box, no warranty sheet, nothing but packaging for shipping.

Someone (unknown to me as of today) is importing large quantities of Pakistan knives and distributing them here in the US.
I see no issue with it until the clones come into play.
The knife in this thread is as close to a clone (from these Pakistan lots) as I have seen so far

you haven't arrived until people try to rip you off :D

amazon has no blame in this, they are just a vendor

no, the guy making these... yeah, KaBar should look into it :D

I have I have to ask you are going to open a knife sharpening service? But you don't know what DPS is? Man you just seem to post to post. I mean these two posts were within 13 hours of each other.
I have read some posts with you involved saying you should read more and post less. You are hammering every sub forum on this site with juberish and nonsense. Slow down man typing stuff just to type makes you look like a tool.
Sorry to side track... what does DPS stand for?

Just helping where I can help, and reading all day long. I am a prolific learner, and I learn more by interacting than I do from accepting statements as "gospel".

Anything wrong with the last two posts here? I think they contributed more to the OP's question than answering your post.

I just "asked the community a question." Quick, go to the amazon page and answer it. Let's slam them with answers that either rip them up, or in the vest least are funny.

OK i checked. The question is posted. Go ahead. rip 'em up guys!
