Life goes on!

about the children of friends --, and others who I did not know,-- arrests, drugs, and in one case..death., I called my daughters...adults now...32 and 34...with three grand-things, and asked...that they think back on their childhoods as best they could, and see if they could define what it was that their mother and I, or their backgrounds provided....that helped them avoid some of the issues, problems, or catastrophes that scared the hell out of me all the time they were growing up.

Their Mom and I divorced after ten years of marraige, but we "co-parented" I think they called it then. Half at my apartment, half at hers....got to be a shuttle what with school and soccer and stuff.

After a few weeks, I talked with each...separately...and they said..in different words, the same thing: "Dad, somehow we always knew that no matter how bad we were, or how much we screwed things up or talked back, or got caught shop-lifting make-up....what ever it was...from grades to attitude....That we were always loved. We would not have put it that way when we were kids...but we each always knew that there was nothing we could do that was so bad that you wouldn't love us."

Smiles. I didn't know what I was doing. But apparently, I was doing the right thing.

I'm proud of them. And maybe...a little proud of me...even if I didn't have a clue.

May help you, as well, munk. Good luck.

I talk to my sons. My six year old would surprise many of you, I think, not for scholastic progress, (none I care to trumphet) but his presence.

I've helped a friend through the death of his son, and I never want to go there again.

Drugs and booze is the oblivion this society is up against. I almost went under, and hope my sons will not. I'll be there for them if they go under and ever want to come back.

I talk to my sons.

The best we can do is try to raise them right and hope they save what is left of our freedoms. They are the future. I surely am with you in the hope for the future of gun ownership.
Let us pray just a bit for the Mother and new Son to get them started in the right direction.
God Bless, Munk.

The best a man can hope for right after birth is good health to stay around. I think you've been a good dad so far and I see no reason that would change.:)
