Life of a knife

Nice story, Johnny! Thank you!

All I have to say that, I was up to "more modern" knives. Some of them are tactical. But leaving this area I went over to traditional knives. Most of my modern knives are even unused. Maybe I didn´t want to use a Spyderco knife in public, maybe at a supermarket. With traditionals that´s no problem. Theese ones get used, all of them. The only savequeen I own is that Böker 25th anniversery. My traditionals get a lot of use, mostly everday. And not to forget the rotation in carrying the knives. There are a couple of knives in my drawer, I try to change everyday. But I have a some favorites.

My 2 Cents.

Kind regards
Andi

For those who have cited inheriting an old, memorable knife from a family member, do you think that you could be attracted to an old, but well taken care of knife from someone you never new...someone who led a life that you know nothing about? For me, an old knife is something in and of itself to be cherished regardless of its owner. Obviously, I have no interest in a knife with a sordid history, for example one that was used in a crime. But other than an unusual circumstance like that, I am intrigued by old knives. I just wish I had time to use them all. After all, I think very few knives have ever been made where the maker intended for the knife to just sit in some drawer or display case somewhere.

I agree, any old knife has a story and can be pretty cool to own. In a sense that is what we get when we buy from antique stores or pawn shops, A knife with an unknown background.
