Life-vest Mini-bowie from Nautilus Rudder Bearing

This 4" blade was hand-forged from half of an E/V Nautilus rudder bearing (details on my website). The bolster is the first time I've used the *upright* part of the brass bearing cage. The machined curves and tapers in the original material leave little room for error. The handle is starry-night-at-sea themed dyed, stabilized red oak burl from Nicholas that I picked up at BLADE show earlier this year. Although a little forged birudashi was completed first, this is actually my first hand-forged blade.
