Would anyone know what type of steel is in a fork lift fork.And would it be any good for forging?

i remember this discussion a couple months ago. perhaps one of the paid members can search it for you. it has been discussed, and i think (THINK) the concensus was they aren't for knife making....

My guess is 4140 or 4340.
