Here's what I told Justin.Mercier a few days ago:
I made my own light box.
It's made out of 3 extra long sheets of paper, 2 hangers, translucent paper (wax paper could work, I used foamy packing stuff) some tape, and a fair amount of bending and time. Also some foil helps.
What you do is make a square frame from one hanger, and tape the 3 pieces of paper over the top, one on the back, and then the other two on the sides. use the second hanger to make a support frame near the front of it, tape that on. Then put some extra tape/paper/wire in the back corners to add more support there. Cut a hole in the top, large enough for a desk lamp to shine through, and put a sheet or two over the hole to prevent direct light. Then if you want, put a piece of foil in the lamp to reflect more light into the box. Here's a picture of mine finished:
Hope it's not too washed out for you.
Here's a pic I just took of my zippo with a handful of change behind it for contrast.
You're limited in size with this setup, but it can be easily changed to different dimensions.

man i made one and i don't like it. the new cannon a2000 takes to good of a picture and i can blow they up and it shows every little thing, things i don't see with the eye.From know on i will be taking pictures as i go.
according to the camera i need some work on my knifes.
