light brigade or sarge?

Definately the Team Gemini if it was my choice, I personally think the sarge is kinda ugly. I know alot of people like it, but thats just my opionion.

When I hold my Team Gemini, it makes me want to wrap a bandana around my head and go play Rambo in the forest :D

I cant afford both. If I hadnt of gotten chosen for the shop credit I wouldnt have been able to do this period. I am so thankful. Always wanted a Busse.

I should have a TGLB under the tree this year.
The Sarge 7 is OK,I would like it better if it had the jimping or if the scales did not have the dip in them for the jimping.

I see a lot of these either or threads and I gotta say, this one is a toughy.

If you can get a satin SARGE, that's what I'd go with personally as the TG isn't available in satin.

Otherwise I'd go for a TGLB black with black and tan handles like Andy the Aussie's. Ever since I saw that pic I've been drooling...

Either way you're going to have a sweet blade. I don't have a TGLB on hand right now to compare, but I think the SARGE is a teency bit lighter.

Functionality wise, I'm no expert, but I don't see a huge difference between the two. It might just come down to which one you like the looks of more. Also, in any case if you change your mind you won't have a problem selling/trading for the other.

Make sure you can use the shop credit for the SARGE if you're considering it... Busse Combat and the Busse Company Store are sort of different.

I have both and prefer the Sarge 7 over the TGLB. For me it feels better in hand and seems to be more refined.
With the thinner flat grind, it does everything well without the need to thin the edge.

Yeah I dont know if Skunk takes shop credit...better call and ask or send an email...

But I had a SAR 8 and that thing was elegant but formidable. The seven is prob pretty awesome too. The TG is a pretty tough looking knife and maybe lighter than the seven...(not sure how much they weight though)

That is a tough choice.

The TG with a comp finish if I was ordering that one. Just looks so much cooler to my eye than the coating (which I eventually strip on my coated blades anyway).

The Sarge has a handle that seems more versatile for copping (you can move your hand back on the handle more comfortably for me).

Also the Sarge has a pointier point to my eye. I have not held the TG. I tend not to like a top guard as much (my knives are more geared toward out door use and utility).

The SARGE 7 is deceptively small. Its (relatively) shallow blade makes it LOOK a lot bigger than it actually is. Thats not to say its a tiny knife, that would be absurd, but its not busse large. I personally, as an armchair philosopher, don't find the TGLB's geometry to be all that seductive.

Whats my take on the whole thing? The next model out the door is very likely to be the Argonne Assault, and when the new model is launched THEN I'd make up my mind if I were you. Wouldn't it be unfortunate if just after you place your order and its too late to change it, they release the uber mega dream busse? Also am I going crazy, or is some knife show coming up which we'll have a post-show ganza for? That might be worth holding your cards for as well. ;)

As someone who owns 2 of both I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoy them both. They both have very similar cutting ability, chopping power, size, weight etc. The one difference is that the Team Gemini fills the hand 'more fully' for lack of a better term. If you look at the SARGE the handle is a fairly consistent width throughout while the TG's have more meat in some areas. Hope that helps.
