Light camp knife

I wouldnt buy either personally, definitely Esee over Benchmade if it was one of those two knives. I second LT Wright knife for something worth buying. Or look into lionsteel as the designs split the two knives you like.

I would look into what you really want, I like a larger blade for food prep. Prepping a whole meal with a paring knife vs making a few cuts with a larger knife. I favor a 5-6 inch flat grind knife with the edge about an inch forward of the handle. My current favorite is my kephart however I am starting to miss the extra blade in front of the handle.

Lots of good suggestions here. Moras are hard to beat for light weifgt, and work better fot food prep than the CW would have you believe.

No one has mentioned one of my low-buck favorites, the Dexter-Russell Green River 5” fish knife, with a flat grind and a Kephart-ish feel.

Old Hickory now has a few smaller knives that come with leather sheaths. The first was the 6” belt knife mentioned above. It is still an outstanding bargain at around 22 bucks. There is a 4-incher that has styling cues of a poor man’s kephart, and a full flat grind, and a smaller one still that I have not had a look at.

Mora has so many good options I own 3 and have gifted a few others. Great knives for camping.
