A little experimentation, I added some ground scale in with the clay on this one to try and retard the quench. I am very happy with the results :). There is a lot happening in the hamon and some very groovy bainite banding going on that I just cant capture with the lense :(.
Specs : BL 5 1/2", 140mm. OAL 11", 280mm. Forged W2 with Hamon. Flat ground with a convex edge. Weighing in at 6 1/2 oz, 200 grms. Fast in the hand and the balance is spot on. Clip is sharp for 1 1/2", 38mm. Stainless sculptured guard with G10 and bronze spacers. Stabilised Coolibah burl handle. Tooled leather sheath with frog that allows traditional and cross carry.

Thanks for looking and comments welcome. Also posted in the for sale section.
Cheers Keith

This one is special Keith. I love the clouds in the hamon and the entire blade and handle profile is just what I like.

Thanks Gary. Like I said, lots going on there. Wish we had a Coop or Royer down here to do it some justice :D

Awesome as usual.
I have a contact for a good photographer who is a knife maker as well, I'll get it to you.

man, that hamon!
Tight work, as always, my friend.

Beautiful knife Keith!
Beautiful wood on the handle, nice clean work and great looking hamon.
2nd photo looks like a bank of clouds. Very cool!

Very clean work and excellent hamon. Was this W-2 forged from bar stock?

I can't believe it took this long for comments. I would change the butt drop of the handle but other than that I do like the profile. Come on guys, this is one of Keith's best.

Thanks Gary for your comments mate, I appreciate it a lot. Is the drop to much do you reckon? I must say it feels real good in the hand imo :)
Cheers Keith

Keith, Mate that is one gorgeous hamon on that blade. I assume that the rest looks like the second picture?
