A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...well you know the rest. While Luke crashed in Dagobah to be trained by Yoda, he sensed that his friends were in trouble and decided to leave before completing the Jedi training. There were some cryptic teachings by his master, amongst them the famous one about doing your best or none at all. He also left him a message in some mysterious Dagobahn runes when he learned that Luke would leave before his training was over. It was suspected but now is confirmed that Master Yoda favors a de-ramped BK9 as replacement for his light saber, and this 10 got recent approval by the Jedi Council as well :D :D :D

I have no illusion of the Alliance symbol staying pretty after this 10 starts to melt spaceship hatch locks. Right now it got a heavy dose of clear epoxy over it and left to dry well

The "mysterious" Dagobahn runes... :D

Will post the edited photo if it's too much...

Technical Data Specs Sheet:

- Deep etched logos
- Strip
- Pulled back clip
- Modified ramp
- Modified lower guard
- Carved and painted scale
- Acid etch on both sides
- Blued

I like the stock sheath, but debating wether or not to order some kydex and do a leather hybrid. For now, the top strap needs to go.

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YA! (thanks for the idea NikkiR!)

I am a giant nerd, and I giant love this! Looks awesome man, how did you etch so deep, and purdy?

now as a life long staw wars fan i have too say that freakin, rocks best mod ever ever and i mean ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ferric chloride, aka PCB etchant. I'm so addicted to etching that I have a flower vase filled with a 50/50 mix of pcb and water.
First the logos, the edge is covered in acid resistant ink and it goes for a suspended dunk in the vase (I tie a shoelace to the lanyard hole and then "crane" it over a drawer knob into the vase). After 2 hours, with a brush and wash at the 1 hour mark, it gets sprayed with stripper. Off with the gunk, then sand from 120 to 400. Then it's ready to get covered with inkk and left to dry while I practice the drawing

After the ink is dry, (I give it 2 days hanging from a wire) the scratching of the design starts. This is a delicate endeavour; if I mess it up I have to cover with ink and start all over again. Lucky for me it went without a hitch. After the design is scratched it gets dunked again, this time with a wash and brush at 1 hour, then at the 2nd hour and then left half an hour more, this 1095 is a tough cookie

Yoda favors the 9 :D

That Imperial symbol for the "O" was the 2nd toughest thing to do overall. The alliance symbol was a breeze as I have been drawing that for years, even have it tattooed on my right leg; OTOH it was really tough to carve it out on the scale

glad u troopers like it

like pretty much anything, it's just practice. I used to draw a lot as a teenager and gradually dropped it off, just getting back to it as this acid addiction makes me push myself. Most of the stuff I do on my knives I have learned here on BF; if u want to see some badass top notch etching search for "montejano" here, this guys does real works of art, literally, on blades. I'm quite a long way from that level, but I like to learn by doing.

Nice work there, Zulu! That's a really deep etch, but I think it works well.

thanks! it looks deep but it ain't that far in, it's just that I widen the lines after the first scratch "pass" is done. I'd say the etches are shallower than the previous BK stamps.

There's no way that hideous creature would ever be on one of my blades. If any, it could be run thru with one of my blades.

Man this thing is off the charts in AWESOMENESS..... I LOVE IT.... and im not a SW's fan lol

cant wait for the epoxy to dry on top of the alliance symbol, I need to destroy something with this thing!

Seriously frakkin' awesome work! I have a bottle of etchant from the 'Shack (probably purchased around episode VI) that has been calling me and asking to be poured onto my 9. This forum rocks with all kinds of great ideas - thank you for posting your artistry here!
Things that make you go hmmm........

The pcb etchant can be diluted with water and you get the same results

I got this blue stuff on ebay, search for photoresist ink. I dilute it with acetone and then paint the blade with it
