Light Saber replacement approved by the Jedi Council

If you can't find the ink, spray paint works, too, and it comes off easier than the original coating when you're all done. Otherwise, I use adhesive paint-mask vinyl with the design cut out of it and just let the PCB Etchant sit on that. As long as the blade if clean, the vinyl adheres well and there's no problem with bleeding.

Thats some nice work, I'm not into star wars either, but job well done on the etching.

man, little love for Star Wars on this planet sheesh! :D thanks

A few years back, I was trying to explain that scene in Star Wars where Ben and Luke were above the spaceport, and Ben says "Mos Eisley Spaceport. You'll never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany." to my wife. I got as far as "Remember that scene in Star Wars.." She immediately cut me off and said "No, I was dating."

Not much you can say after that.

I don't dislike Star Wars, I just think that Lucas got a little silly with it as the years went on.

I agree. The new trilogy lacks the feel of the oldies and jar jar binks is an abomination, tho they did a pretty good job of stitching up the story lines from the new to the old

well I had decided already not to do a kydex since the stock sheath is pretty decent. Ka-Bar has stepped up a notch in the construction of the new ones (I'm guessing since the release of the tweeners and the new laser marks) and now we get a belt loop with a snap and velcro and a molle-capable back strap along with a pouch. As much as I like kydex I need to add all of these things after making one. So, the stock sheath's only downside is blade rattle. The solution? Remove the liner and stuff a slim kydex case. After taking off the bottom stitch that secures the liner and removing it the interior got a heavy dose of Barge cement; ditto for the kydex. The lower strap was also removed. I like this setup so much I'm doing something similar to my newly arrived 7 :D

the new liner, just 3 eyelets on the lower part no need to go all the way up

Oh yeah, I'm reviving this! Badass man! Fantastic work and thanks for sharing your process! Damn, like I need another knife mod project to try lol. Add it to the list!

Love me some Star Wars, like many others grew up on Star Wars movies and merch, love it. Nice work man.

Holy dear heavenly Lord that set up is so cool! I love Star Wars but my brother is a certified freak. He's going to think that is awesome! Sheeeeet I think that is awesome! And the sheath is like a massive cherry on top of that sweet sweet cake. Good Onya Zulu..

I'm totally stealing this and going to put the imperial etch on mine now... looks so sweet.

yeah zemapeli, rotary dremel-like tool for the handle, then paint and clear epoxy over it. The blade was etched with acid.

Arkanian, I already did the imperial handle on a 7 :D

I love me some Star Wars! This is superb. Well executed! Just seen I've already posted her, ah well deserves more kudos!
