Light weight hawk

Very nice work. Thanks for posting and the tips to use if I ever start trying to make one. I just check out your album. Outstanding, great art.
 
Hello Butch...These are not really my thing. More into larger working type axe. But that is really beautiful work. She looks like the complete piece to me. Very well presented photos too.

I am interested in the ash. I'm sure that was the traditional timber used by the English. Is it known to you just as ash or is there an extension to that. Black Ash, Claret Ash etc. How long is it seasoned for? Sap or heart.

Although these Hawks are not my thing I can see how folk love then. A work of art really.

I'm with you, Frank. I'm more interested in a good working tool than a work of art - though I see the beauty in what folks are posting here. There is obviously a lot of skill and passion put into their works. I admire that.

While there are legitimate uses for hawks, my uses are better fulfilled with other edge tools.
 
I would not have gotten a feel for how small it was without the in hand pic. Looks dandy.
