In response to all the serious discussions and hurt feelings over the last few days, I would like to take this oppportunity to lighten the mood and create a useful and informative thread. This forum was designed for just such a question and is the brain trust for the entire knife loving community.

So, what knife would you use to slice spam (the canned type not the electronic type)? My personal choice is the Busse Combat #9. You just slice through the can, spam, and the kitchen counter. This in fact may be a better test than the hemp rope thing that went on last year. Perhaps Mr. Stamp will analyze the effect of questionable pork products on blade geometry and corrosion

SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAAAAAAAAAAM!!

Okay, now here we go. Where the hell do you get off calling Spam a "questionable pork product"? If I could reach through this thing and get a piece of you, I'd...I'd...
...Oh, GOD NO!!! Mike, NO!!! Spark, I didn't mean it Sparky. NO...NO...zzzzttt...no...

Okay, Okay, I give. Had no idea you could actually transmit that many volts back through the line. The smoke is clearing. Yes, I still have the other hand. It's going to be all right, now.

BUT FROM NOW ON...

Let's be careful out there.

Tuvo muy mala suerte...se paso en frente de mi escopeta.
Escuche--estan llorando las palomas para ti?
No...ya, no. Siguen cantando, nada mas.

In Australia we use the Bullsh#t Test, where you hack into a stack of dried patties. Handy in reallife situations too

Actually the Hormel company makes the Spam just down the road from me. They also make canned hams up and the shape required doesn't allow for any size varriation, so the remainder coes into Spam. Considering the storage problems that the product must allow for the products are quite good.
I usually take a few can along when hunting or trapping. By the way, it also makes great trap bait. I use a Spyderco ripoff knife made in the worlds larges prison camp to cut the stuff.

Kit--
There you go. Just when those vienna sausages finally get together, these guys want to go in and start cutting them apart again. Some people just can't leave well enough alone.

Spam, spam, spam, eggs and spam with out the eggs. Spams best with the tin left on. Use it for fish bate and have a real meal.

Swiss Army Knife when the key openner breaks before the tin is oppened.

Ahhhh, but who out there knows what SPAM stands for?
I'd use a 60 year old butter knife. This way I won't get in the can!

SPAM stands for SPiced hAM! My mom used to make me fried spam with rice and eggs.(A variation of Loco Moco!) OOO-WHEE! My neighbor used to fry spam in butter and then sprinkle brown sugar on it. My plumber used to grab the spam right out of the can, greasy hands and all, and shove it into his mouth while fixing our toilet.

Ahhh, the spam memories are unfolding...

Spam patties for breakfast
Spam sandwiches for lunch
Spam balls for dinner and
candied Spam for dessert
oh glorious Spam!

BTW, I am now a vegetarian, and I hate Spam.

Last August, while in Hawaii we saw so much Spam that we actually thought about buying some. Well for about 3 seconds. There were actually "end caps" (the end of the row of products in the store) of the stuff.

A few weeks later, back in Florida, we were at our weekly trivia contest and guess what one of the questions asked was?

What state has the highest percentage of people who eat Spam!

Yup we got that one right!

Now if you can make a knife which cuts the other Spam (email kind), let me know

Hey! Don't knock Spam! At least I could chew it. Better than the damned hardtack biscuits. Chipped a tooth trying to eat it. Could almost get a good working edge when I sharpened it.
