Although I was born in 1942, I do have vague memories of Spam being one of the few meat products that were readily available up until about 1946 or so, what with wartime rationing and all, so don't knock it too badly. It kept a lot of us wartime kids going! As to the mandatory blade content, how about a Mad Dog ceramic blade? It should be able to cut through can, Spam, table, Uncle Tom Cobbleigh , and all.
