Lighter Blades??

Uncle Bill,
I was just wondering if you had any lighter & thinner bladed khukuris. I really don't care for the Kumar Kobra (not for myself anyway). I just can't handle the thick and/or heavy blades (like some of Terrys). I really like the extra details like the scrolled butt cap and smaller handles. My hands are small and I am only 5'5. What models do you have that would work for me? I LOVE THE HI KHUKURIS. It just seems the kamis have changed their style and the blades have become more beefy. I like the old shop one khukuris a little better. Do you have some of these old timers laying around anywhere?
Sorry about not posting. We have been very busy with Terry's work, school, etc........
Spring has sprung and things seem to get kind of crazy this time of year. I wouldn't worry about the forum too much Uncle Bill. It will be hot out before long and everyone will be back on the forum under the air conditioner.
I AM VERY GLAD YOUR BACK AND FEELING BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Sandi

Sandi,

Take a look at the 9"-12" Sirupati's. The smaller khukuri's are usually proportioned so all all dimensions. I believe Rusty has small hands as well. He might help point you in the right direction.

I was amused to see that my new Super Salyan was scaled up in all proportions (big hands required). This is definitely the wrong direction for you.

Also, the first village khukuri's that from H.I. have smaller handles. These were ugly but very good blades. I have not seen Uncle Bill adverstise them for a while. The handles were marginal for me, but on they were on the safe side of the margin.

You might have to provide some more specifications, some dimensions, and weight.

Definitely any of the 12" khuks. Bill may have a 12 AK left. That is very sweet. A 12" Sirupati - that isn't a khuk, at least after the first five minutes, just part of you.
If you get a 15" Sirupati, see if you can get one with wood handle. They are left a bit oversize like the horn ones, but can be taken down smaller more easily. My 15" Sirupati was rehandled by Pala in oak. I eventually took it down in size to even with the bolster and buttcap. Completely different personality.

Sandy - I guess Pakcik Bill still has a 15" Gangawala in stock ... and that was a couple of month ago - Pakcik Bill ... is it still available?

NEPAL HO!

Hi Sandi ---If you want a 15"er, the BAS is a real nice khukuri. My son has a shop 1 BAS. I don't know what the shop 2s feel like as far as this khukuri. I have a 12" & 15" sirupati I think from shop 2. The 12 is light as heck and has brass scroll work like the BAS. The 15" is good also. Depends on how big a khuk ya want.

HA! ha!!!! Uncle Bill it might take something this size to keep Terry in line but I guess I settle for this BEAUTIFUL 15" sirupati I got from you in the mail today. I love it and it fits my hand perfect.
Thank you! Thank you !!!!Uncle Bill & Yangdu
Thanks for all the good advise and help guys!
Take care,
Sandi

PS I have a frying pan that will keep Terry in line since the 30" won't fit my hand as well as the pan handle. ha! ha!

A 15" Sirupati IS a dream in the way it handles for the smaller of us.

But the 12" Sirupati is a revelation surpassing our wildest dreams. It belongs to a class all it's own.

For you guys into pistols, the 12" is the always khuk like an aluminum S&W J frame is the always gun. You get up in the morning, put it on automatically, and then decide how you're going to dress so you can make up your mind what primary gun you can carry today.

Sandi.
Since I am 5'4 ... I guess my hands are smaller than yours ... so ... I better grab the last shop #1 15" Sirupati from Pakcik Bill! YES! Insyaa-Allaah!

Rusty.

Do you stand any chance to win a chopping competition in the August Khukurinuts Convention when tall, dark & handsome Khukuri wielders like Cliff & Will are around?

Don't tell me that even Sandi might beat us in that said competition!

BTW, I might not be around ... Rusty - it seems you will be a loner of our size in that convention!

Uncle Bill,
I just wanted to let you know that I took my 15' sirupati out the other day for a test run and there is not much more to say than I LOVE THIS KHUKURI!!! I chops great ! I know it's not a big massive tree chopper but it works great on small trees and limbs. It is great for just using around the house. This khukuri is a functional work of art & it's as beautiful as it is useful.
Thank You !!!!!!!!!!! Uncle Bill & Yangdu

I don't think you would have to worry about me winning any chopping competitions. My little 15' sirupati would have to take about 3 chops to Terry's one. Besides I would hate for you guys to be crushed with the thought of losing to a girl.

Mohd:

Not to worry! Haven't you heard the saying that old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill? The cops on the rez didn't call me coyote for nothing.

Don't you remember me telling of how some friends thought they could embarrass me - and that they were at least 200 or 300 yards inside the State Mental Hospital grounds before they figured out I wasn't really giving them directions to the newest casino in town? I almost had them into the parking lot for the criminally insane section, too!

3 chops in 1 minute is better than 1 chop in 1.5 minutes!

When I was a kid, sometimes I purposely make myself losed a race to my sister ... you know ... I remember that I was very happy to see her lovely smile & her glowing face!
