Lighter Blades??

Nice, but not unexpected. Uncle Bill is right about the kind of folks who frequent this forum. They are good people.

In spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of what;
The older man the whole year through has never once forgot.

Sandy.
... just wanted to let you know ... my 15' sirupati ... I LOVE THIS KHUKURI!!! ... it works great on small trees and limbs ... is a functional work of art & it's as beautiful as it is useful ...
Pakcik Bill, Sandi, Rusty & everybody.

I just received mine - it is a real beauty! real enchanter!
  • It has a beautiful blade shape - 1 1/2" blade width - streamline curve flow - proportionately balanced - very slick.
  • It has a beautiful scroll work - done in a very straight line - the S diagrams & the frame lines are properly etched in a perfect arrangement.
  • It has a nicely cut Cho.
  • I has a beautiful Water Buffalo horn handle - sealed with scrolled butt cap.
  • It has a beautiful scabbard - very good quality leather & it is very nicely sewn & cut.
Thank you Pakcik Bill!

NEPAL HO!

Mohd, take warning!

Uncle Bill tells me you too have a salyan. Check out the Mega Salyan thread. After playing with the 30" Sirupati and the Kora, my salyan seemed like it would make a good one hander. ( Yes, I really said that! )

What I did not say was that then I started playing with the 20" Sirupatis. Right hand, left hand, one in each. They were feeling as light and quick as the 15" it seemed to me.

NOT ONLY DOES HIKV REQUIRE MORE FREQUENT FIXES as the disease progresses, IT REQUIRES LARGER AMOUNTS OF STEEL TO ACHIEVE THE SAME EFFECT!

Wait a cotton picking minute. "...I took my 15' Sirupati..." ? 15 FOOT? I feel a case of Khukuri envy coming on Rusty.

Rusty.

LOL! It seems Sandy prefer ' rather than " ... I didn't notice it! Aother LOL! - You better watch out ... Sandy might bring her 15' Sirupati to the Khukurinuts Convention in this coming August!

NEPAL HO!

Uh, Sandi, if it's really a 15 foot Sirupati, then maybe you'd better leave it home.

I think we'd better play this down or the ATF people will think we're into destructive devices here and raid our Khonvention in August under the pretext we were plotting to use it to cut the Golden Gate Bridge in half with it.

Either that or the tree huggers will make a pre-emptive strike against us to prevent our cutting down a redwood for a section of it's trunk to make a handle for our next project!

Rusty,
You just have too much time on your hands to notice something like that. Didn't you know that Uncle Bill had started the production of a khukuri of this caliber. I promise if we get to come this summer I will leave all my 15' khukuris at home.
