Lightest folder for its size?

The best blade to weight ratio I have found is either the Kershaw SG2 JYD II or the Spyderco Military.

I must agree with the Al Mar option. Almost stupid light, and available in pretty large lengths!

That being said I EDC a Benchmade 530 and it's pretty fantastic. It's been my go-to knife for 4 years now.

I have to second the BM 530 (3.25 blade : 1.8oz) and the Al Mar Ultralight series. The eagle (4 in balde : 2 oz) is jaw dropping when you flick the blade out:D Either of these would be fine EDCs and meet your criteria.

Gibby is on to something. If not the Eagle; how about the Falcon? Three inch blade at 1.6 oz.

I know that the Spyderco "S" or "Q" is under 2 oz with a compression lock.

But lightest knife for it's size? Maybe the Rock Salt. Incredibly well balanced knife there. Light weight too.

Oh you said folders. :) Spyderco Military. 4" blade, S30V or get one of the sprint runs. The S90V/CF is actually about .5 oz lighter, but they're under 4oz.

 another vote for the AlMar Ultra light, also A.G. Russel's featherlight is a good recommendation.

Al Mar Falcon....3 1/4" blade 1.3 oz!

I have Al Mar Ultralights, an AG Russell FeatherLite and a Kbar Dozier. They are all nicely made, I like EDCing them all. Al Mar is probably the lightest. Both the Al Mar and the Featherlite give you the most longest blades for the handle length.

If you want one that you will hardly know its there, the Al Mars are great.

All of mine have seen alot of EDC use and all seem to have good cutting geometries.

I think my Spyderco Q-Clipit is the lightest thing in my collection, short of a sawed-off X-Acto knife. :D

But I got one with the Spyder edge. :(

I see a lot of people have mentioned the Benchmade 530, and I agree with them. I love that knife: it's extreme light, razor sharp, and opens lightning-fast. I only wish I didn't misplace it a few months ago :(

There are plenty of knives out there that are small light, but often they will be unmanageable and TOO small to be useful.

I've found a sweet-spot in my Boker Subclaw and Wharcoms. They're sturdy, frame lock, good steel, compact, and ride well in wastebands, and low in pockets.

Fallkniven U2 is light, still big enouth for edc. Also light and a little bigger, spyderco delica or even lighter calypso jr. For bigger light AND cheap knifes look at Opinel and EKA 88, just tree and steel.
