The knife is still available, though I am waiting to hear from 2-3 people who pm'd me and said they would take it. There has been so much interest that the best way to do this is to first email me at: southriv@comcast.net to confirm that the knife is available and then arrange to make a payment (Paypal) as soon as possible.

At this point, I have to say that the first person who pays has it...

Please note: No shipping to any unconfirmed addresses or to a second or third party not on the Paypal account - no exceptions!

I got to tell you that I am very new to this forum, but I was under the impression that first "Ill take it" has the knife, and than so on. As it was a Monday and I have to work for a living I was unable to monitor the forum on an hourly basis, but nonetheless, I said I would take the knife if the first deal fell through (which it did) and I would have been good on my word. I am sorry that the seller felt that he could not honor that time honored tradition. I did not even receive a PM as a courtesy.

If the deal that gave rise to the "Sold"falls through I will still take the knife without condition.

Thanks.

Just want to set the record straight.

Again, I am new to this forum and do not completely understand all of its features and functions. That said, Southriv did send me a PM earlier today asking me if I wanted the knife and I did not see this message until I logged on this evening. (I had not enabled my email notification.) I guess I lost this one. Good luck to the new owner of the Lightfoot. If any other become available I am certainly interested. Thanks.

Live and learn.

I buy and sell many things on different forums. The best way to secure a deal is to communicate - via pm or email. That step shows you are a serious buyer. Many of us are not in front of a computer all day looking at the forums (I'm not) but I check my email regularly on my mobile. if you want to do a deal - be a little bit more aggressive - leaving an "I'll take it post" often won't do it for me because A. I'm not going to waste my day looking for such a post and B. in my experience, as many of those posts fail to come to fruition as those that do. I caught yours by accident ( a quick glance at the forum in the morning) and responded as a courtesy.

Also, while a buyer may became frustrated, often things are no easier for the seller. Over the last two days I had to put up with many pms saying I'll take it - give me your Paypal, etc., etc. and then no follow-up. Then there were a couple just plain scammers. Bottom line, I'm sorry you got caught up in this morass of erratic communications and hustle, but I had to finally end this by giving it to the first person serious and motivated enough to pm/email me and take the necessary steps to complete a transaction. Unfortunately, there were some other serious buyers out there who just missed the window on timing issues, but that's life.

Last, I'm pleased to see that you now know to check all your communications before making public comments.

Thanks...

Thanks Southriv!

I apologize for jumping the gun (or knife as it were). Let me know the next time you have any hot knives for sale.

Who scored that beauty?
Don't get me wrong but I wouldn't pay you a full amount in advance if I didn't know who won.
Let me know ASAP please.

So despite that I posted "I'll take it" and sent you an email someone else scored it?
You're really "great" guy to do a business with!
Don't waste my time anymore please.

You are out of line. A seller has an absolute right to sell to whomever he chooses. There is no right to buy based on time of bid. You have no way of knowing how many people contacted him before you and you have no right to that information, either.

He isn't wasting your time, you are wasting his. Fortunately, the sale is over, or you could have been given a warning or infraction for interfering with a sale. Please keep arguments offline and out of sale threads.
