Lightweight folder

If you move from a William Henry to a Sebenza, you won't be stepping up . . . you'll be stepping sideways. ;)

Yep and having handled both extensively, I'll take an e6 over a Mnandi 10 times out of 10. Mnandi is too small and doesn't melt into your hand like a WH does.

Sebenza on the other hand its a toss up but the WH will be lighter, more gentlemanly and sexier. Sebenza will be better if you want more of a small work knife.

Lots of styles to choose from.

My buddy loves his Chive.

My bro in law likes his small Forge de laguiole, which is stunning.

For dress slacks, I like a vintage USA Schrade 5OT.

The Buck 501 or 503 is nice too.

What? No one has suggested an Extreme Ratio? :)

I have several dressy knives, including a Benchmade 530 and the Gold Class 531 just released. I like them. But, there are other options.

For example, the CRKT Ripple. I have one in the ultramarine blue and one in the bronze. Both are gorgeous knives, small-ish, lightweight, slim, and yet very sharp.

Possibly my dressiest knife is my mammoth ivory Mnandi. Sweet little knife and gorgeous to boot.

The Benchmade 940-1 is a very light knife, too, at 2.44 oz, nominally. The S90V blade is just a bonus.

Slightly heavier, the Kershaw Leek comes in a wide variety of colors and finishes. I have three. One is a damascus blade, one is a composite blade, and the third is the blackwashed composite blade. It comes in every color of the rainbow, including a rainbow anodize. Sweet little knife.

One you don't see much is a Spyderco Centofante Memory, anodized a beautiful light blue, quite sleek.

The Spyderco Dragonfly is another sweet little knife. I don't have one, but I have given one to my girlfriend (suitably engraved), the Tattoo. I like it, personally, and it's wicked sharp.

Maybe at the edge of the gent's knfe category is the Delica. I like that knife and have a couple. It's my girlfriend's basic carry knife. You can find sprint runs in titanium or in jigged bone (she has both). Perfect knife, the Delica. Everything you need in a knife and nothing you don't. Sprint runs of awesome steels are also available, as are colors, depending on your tastes.

Maybe an oddball choice here, but I've just gotten a Benchmade Bone Collector, a D2 blade with a walnut handle. The walnut really makes this sweet.

How the heck has nobody mentioned the Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight S110V!? Insanely light for the size (2.9oz) and plenty strong for anything a lightweight folder will do. Oh, it is also just over $100 with arguably the highest end steel commercially available today... and it is a normal production piece! It's like the higher ups at Spyderco got high when they decided on a price point and production schedule. I don't know anybody who saw this knife ever being a thing.

I have several lightweight folders which are ideal for those occasions when you can carry only one.

• Camillus #2 lockback
• Schrade 5OT lockback
• Buck 55 lockback
• SanRenMu 1602 G linerlock
• SanRenMu 603 (linerlock)
• Camillus #77 (baby stockman)
• Swiss Classic (occasionally, when the tools are needed)

Of these, the Schrade is the "Baby Huey." The rest fit into a slacks pocket all but unnoticeably.

Thanks Scurvy092; now I need an e6 CF...

Sorry CRK Mnandi.

I think that a lot of the Mcustas make great gentlemen's folders. Lots of them don't have pocket clips however, the tactility is a little long but slender and nice looking depending on your handle and blade choices.

If you can handle a little larger knife, I'd suggest you consider the E10. It's essentially the same knife as an E6 with a larger blade and handle. Here are the specs on both knives:

E6:
Blade 2.75" (69.9mm)
Handle 3.50" (88.9mm)
Overall open 6.13" (156mm)

E10:
Blade 3.50" (88.9mm)
Handle 4.13" (104.9mm)
Overall open 7.50" (190.5mm)

Both the E6 and the E10 weigh less than 2.0 ounces.

Thanks man, now I need both of em... :D;):foot:

I carry this little guy with me almost every day. A small carbon fiber sebenza. Awesome little knife.

I really like my Spydie Persistence. Solid lockup, fantastic quality, best 8cr still I have ever dealt with, and under $40.00 to boot
