lignum vitae

hello, there is the "real" lignum vitae. then there is the others-mainly argentine ligmun vitae. my question is does the argentine vitae have a smell to it or is it just the "real" stuff that does. i know the "real" stuff is darker,heavier, and oiler and is under restrictions. anyone work with one or the other, if so what are your thoughts--thanks marekz

Check with Christof Harper (Koyote Knives). He has a maker's forum here. He uses Lignum Vitae, the Argentinian type, I think.
