I really like the looks of the CRKT homefront, but I don't feel like paying 80+ for an aus8 blade and the field strip. Does anyone know of a knife that looks similar for under 50$?

You like CRKT's Homefront?

WHY? Other than it's ability to be field stripped, there is nothing special about it.

Maybe the Buck Vantage? I think RealSteel has a few with similar profiles as well but I've never handled any of those so I can't comment on their quality.

I really admire the engineering that went into the Homefront. I bought one of the Blade 2017 SEs just to try out the mechanism and play with it. Hats off to Mr. Onion and CRKT for a truly innovative design. But...in a way, it's the best solution to a problem most knife users DON'T have, and in typical CRKT fashion the materials don't warrant the price tag.

If you're in the market for a similar look, consider the RealSteel H6-S1. The blade is close with a deep belly and drop point. The H6-S1 is probably a better slicer with a flat grind. The H6-S1 handle isn't as square but probably more ergo. The price is about half the Homefront, the materials and F/F are better. The RealSteel comes in CF or G10.

CRKT also has the K250KXP model Homefront, which is $20 less. Of course, it has a 4116 blade and FRN handle, so it may seem even less of a value, if you're not thrilled with the price/value ratio of the original.

i like the hunter version homefront the best. the 4116
versions arent bad, compard to the aus8 version. i have all three.
