Like Mora's, try a Hultafors (Pic Heavy)

Normark,

I was out of town last night and just got your message. I have sent you an email.

While I was gone I was able to try out the GK and the regular carbon knife. All I did was whittle on some cedar branches so it was not a heavy duty test, but the knives appear to hold their edge well and they both cut well. Hopefully I will be able to get out into the woods soon and put them to a real test.

Hey Guys...

Austin...

Lets work out a Trade!
Shoot me an email...

I'n very interested in those knives as well...

@ Eric Which types do you want?
I get the Hultafors from the same place I got your other knives :)
The ones lying on my desk awaiting a visit to the postoffice :)

Well, I thought I would dig this old post up instead of starting a new one. I received the sheaths from Eric today and they are awesome. These are my first aftermarket sheaths and all I can say is "wow." The knives are very secure and the workmanship on the sheaths is perfect. The old Hultafors sheaths weren't too bad, but the belt loop on them was too small for my belts. The sheaths from Eric fit perfectly. They don't slide on the belt at all and keep the knife secure at all times. There is none of the wobble you get with the factory Mora sheaths. I just don't know why I waited so long to go the Concealex/Kydex rout. Anyway, here are some pics.

Can't see the pics here at work.
I have a few Normark trade sheaths coming soon, provided the knife is to his liking.
Check out his mini rigs, the mini bic one is perfect for a keychain.

I bought some hultafors a few weeks ago due to this thread and I must say I am very impressed!! I like them better than my moras.

Those are great looking sheaths!

Great sheaths, but that's no surprise - I got a sheath from Eric for my Ranger RD4 some time back, and it is a very good sheath indeed. No rattle at all, very tight fit, and surprisingly little scratching (any sheath will scratch the blade finish, especially hard synthetic materials like Concealex/Kydex and such). The price was good, too. :)

I think you will really like the sheaths. I hope to get out and do a little duck hunting this weekend before our season closes on Jan. 28. If I do, I will get to try the new sheaths out. I have used the orange handled (carbon) Hultafors all season to clean birds and it has worked great. I have only had to sharpen it a few times, which is impressive in my book since it has cut through hundreds of layers of feathers, bones, etc... over the last two and half months.
