I got an Endura Wave and I really think the Wave is a good feature. The only thing is, I have never been a big Endura fan and I am even less of a fan of the Endura 4. I am getting the Wave D-4 next, I like the D-4 in general even though it is not as light and easy to carry as the D-3.

What do you think of the Waved D-4? Anyone own both the E-4 and the D-4 Waved? Thoughts?

I own the D-4 Waved. I used to own the E-4 waved, but after awhile I just didn't feel it anymore. I really like the D-4 Waved, I carry it everyday. I personally prefer the D-4 waved over the E-4 waved. Can't go wrong with the D-4 waved.

I have a e-3 e-4 and d-4 all waved. I really dont have a preference but the 3 is lighter. what Im waiting for is to find what models they wave next.

I have both. Once broken in, the D4 wave works very very well. I don't think I broke in the E4 wave long enough, or just hadn't gotten the technique down well enough....I EDC the D4 wave now.

In the pocket, I'm amazed anyone can tell a frn D4 from a frn D3 based on weight, but I wear jeans, maybe dress pants are different?

I EDC a waved D4.

However, I am interested in buying a waved endura just to see how it feels but generally I find the bigger spydies (i.e. endura, millie, manix) too big for my hands.

I've heard that the waved enduras open easier but it seems from the posts here that it isnt the case.

Just got a serrated ZDP D4 today which will replace the wave. Its very impressive: cuts like a demon & feels great.. It'll definitely be in my pocket for a while. Until the ZDP chinese comes out...

I like the wave feature on Spydercos the most. They are easy to use, but don't chew pants up. Personally, I like the blade shape of the Delica/Endura 3 more than the 4 (the 3 is actually a longer blade), but realistically since people often use tips for things knifes aren't meant to be used for, it made sense for Spyderco to shift to a smaller, more roust blade. In order to like the Endura, you must like a bigger blade. The Delica 4 Wave carries well, is large enough for most jobs, and is ergonomic...overall, it gets the job done exceptionally well.

As soon as I come home from work, I take a shower and put on loung pants. They are like PJ bottoms but you could wear them outside and not get a funny look. Anyway, they are thin and light and a heavy knife will weigh them down. I still like to carry a knife even at home so I have use for smaller and lighter knives as well as normal outside knives. A Manix is a great outside knife but it would weigh my pants down too much around the house.

I carry either an all black Delica 3, Caly III, Centofante 4 or one of my Rescues around the house. I think the Caly III is about as heavy as I would go for around the house. The D-4 is about the same weight as the Caly III so there shouldn't be a problem there.

Another advantage of having a dedicated "house" knife is, you can keep it razor sharp since you can choose what you cut with it. I am not going to cut drywall or wire with it if I don't have to. I will sometimes cut things like that with my outside knives.

Fair enough, I have dedicated lounge pants Spydies as well...usually an E3. It's a hobby!

I'm EDC-ing a D4 wave as well.
My observations on this knive;

I think the wave works best in not to loose pockets.
In a 3 piece suit pocket the pocket holding the clip :clothfabric is mostly to thin to make the wave work properly . However when you are a righty like me you can change the clip into left carry and attach it in your rightpocket with the wave to the left side and get it out in pikal style . the wave works better this way on slacks thin shorts etc. with pikal style i mean not hammer sabre grip but reverse grip.

I don't own a e4 wave yet but planning to get one for comparing and tasks when the d4 blade is to short.
take care
