I'd like to be included in this great give-away, if I am qualified. I am not a paying member, but I do have more than 25 posts in Traditionals. Thank you.

I guess I've got a story about a Case knife.

I've been wanting to get my own Case knife for about eight months, ever since I started reading in the Traditionals subforum (gee, imagine that). My grandfather's old Case knife ended up being handed down to me, but I've wanted to have one to make my own, so maybe my grandkid will get a great-great-grandfather's AND a grandfather's Case knife.

A couple weeks ago, I drive to a feed store with my dad on our monthly trek for horse food, and I start starin bug-eyed at all the fine Case knives this "Gold Dealer" had. Well, I handle a Dogleg and a Peanut, and they feel pretty good, but what I really wanted to compare were a Case Copperhead and the ever-beloved Case SBJ -- neither were there. So I decide not to purchase anything just yet, just to sleep on it for a while.

As I'm walkin away from the knife display, out of nowhere I hear my pap say, "Lemme see that one tharr..." He picks up a little Case Caliber knife in camo and gets an evil glint in his eye. He struts over to the cash register and lays down the cash for HIS first Case knife! Pretty evil, I know. It was on purpose, too, because he wouldn't stop "thanking" me. "If it weren't for you," he says, "I never woulda thought of gettin a Case."

Now all he does is flash his new keychain knife in my face and ask where MY Case knife is. Oh, the indignity...

Flymon, thank you for this opportunity.
I have for a longer time wanted a small backlock knife. This very knife is the one Ive been most interested in. I have bought myself a Fallkniven U2 to fill the need for a small backlock and even if its a good knife its a Plastic handle knife and further more I like the clippoint better than the droppoint.

Last week I was for the first visit in my mountain cabin in Lappland. It was 1.5 meter snow and perfect hardness for the Lynx 400 safari snowmobile. I have been skiing and icefishing throut as well. All the week I carryed my Case trapper mod 54 i got as a gift from forummember sunnyd a few years ago. I must tell you I little by little more and more learn to trust a slipjoint as an only knife even in winter time. The trapper is big enough for frozen paws. I probably never reach the point where I carry souch a big and heavy knife as a EDC but in the nature it has its place.

I do not have a Cooperlock yet, and I really like the smooth colored bone on that one, the swaging, the long pull, it has to my mind a "strong" clip shape.

Because this is the traditional area I'll post these pictures here first. This is from a gun show in February, the first one that my 5 year old daughter had ever been to. As is tradition with myself and my brother, when we bring somebody to the gun show for the first time they get a kukrie(take your pic on spelling ;)) from our local "Kukrie Dude" as we affectionately call the seller- he is married to a Nepalese lady and gets his kukries from his relatives directly. I've known Dave for years and have a great relationship with him. My daughter has a good eye for knives already, and gets to pick out my knives for me on most days. I took her over to the table and had her look over the selection. I passed her a couple, after reminding her how to properly sheath and unsheath the knife, and to remember what side of the knife was sharpened. Passed her a couple, "nope", "nope", "Yep". Like that she had chosen. Asked her to hold a couple more to see what she thought, but she returned to her choice, #444 marked on the blade. I looked it over, no obvious flaws in the handle (no accessory blades on this one, the sheath did not allow for any), so I asked Dave what he wanted for it. He asked me for $25, and my daughter has her first Kukrie!

Hamming it up for the camera:

Please count me in also, I know I have at least 50+ posts here. This is my favorite sub-forum.
I got into this forum after acquiring a few cheapo special slipjoints. Well now its been Cases, Westerns, and whatever mostly USA made traditionals I find on sale or at flea markets.
Don't have that style copperlock so would like to win it!
Thanks for the chance.
